All in one slim small box that mounts directly to your radio unit (intermediate level installation is required). This product seamlessly enhances the original factory system by adding an intermediate module. It preserves the car screen, style, and functions while enabling CarPlay/Android Auto and Mirroring (please note Mirroring has been disabled by iPhone latest iOS, we are working on a software update), transforming it into a versatile all-in-one intelligent radio unit.
The system also uses the original car microphone and It is compatible with the car's steering wheel controls, such as up/down song controls, and answering/hanging up calls.

2017 Tacoma, ordered on a Saturday evening, delivered the next day, on a Sunday! I researched a lot of products to get apple carplay. New head unit up to 1500$+. Was a little nervous about the install but videos were excellent. Worked perfect out the gate. I too wish it would automatically connect without having to hold the home button, and not seeing the volume bar is a mild annoyance. Sometimes it takes a couple minutes to connect. BUT, for an after market fix, I don’t expect perfection. VERY happy so far, it makes me a safer driver, never having to look at my phone while driving.

My only question is - do I have to hold the home button to turn on the decoder/Apple Car-play every-time? I wish when I started my truck it would just default to this screen.
Wish I had installed this years ago.
Upon installation about a month ago, I made a review complaint about the defects I was encountering. Now, after it working a bit started to go in and out of a blank dark screen. Would not respond to the touch screen commands and now it has completely wiped the entire factory radio on my Tacoma. When I start the vehicle, the stereo is black, as if totally wiped.
Customer service only asked me a couple of pictures of the mounted decoder and insisted I would correct issues with settings that already were in place. Then they gone completely silent. Now I have a disabled car radio.

Great product I've worked for a shop for 30 years installing audio gear I've put in a couple in the past. When I bought my wife a 2018 tacoma first thing she wanted was wireless android auto and I remembered the only one I installed that wasn't all fuzzy and great install instructions. I'd recommend to anyone over other add on module.
